our tiny furry terror

Written back in oct

It was around 11 at night when I was making myself a cup of tea, feeling that familiar rush of energy that hits after the world
quiets down, and my mind drifted to Juno "our little ball of quirks and affection". That’s when I thought: why haven't you write about her? Since this blog is personal one now and she deserves her moment in the spotlight.

So about her, she’s not a big dog; in fact, she’s quite small for she's 2 and a mixed breed, so not sure what her lineage is, but she came to us when her previous owners couldn’t handle all the puppies they had. They had tried to sell them, but that didn’t work out, and we were lucky enough to adopt her. When we brought her home, she was just a tiny fluff of personality, and it took us a good two or three days to decide on her name. I wanted something that felt significant, either deeply Indian or something entirely different. I finally settled on Juno, a Korean name. I love how it rolls off everyone’s tongue now, especially Mummy.

At first, Appa wasn’t too impressed with her. How could he not see the charm? But became soon Mummy’s favorite, and my younger siblings are absolutely in love with her. Even the neighborhood kids have taken to her, visiting us multiple times a day just to play with her or get a chance to pet her to get her attention to feel mighty. She’ll decide if she wants to be friendly, and she’s both a sweetheart and a little furry terror.

Juno has a personality that feels like a reflection of my own in so many amusing ways. By day, she’s moody and lazy, just lounging around as if the world is her oyster. But come nightfall, she transforms, bursting with energy, ready to explore and play, just like me. My family often jokes that she’s my spirit animal. She’s the kind of dog who’ll follow you when she wants attention but will stay quiet and aloof when she’s content- moody queen behavior. Often searching for the coziest corners of the house to curl up in.

She’s one of those souls who’s easily distracted. One moment, you have all her attention, and the next, she’s completely lost in her own world. Even if you call her name right next to her ear, she might just glance at you with this “get lost” look. But no matter how many times you leave and come back home, she’ll greet you every time like it’s the first—jumping with excitement, full of love and energy, though only for a few seconds. Then, she’s off again, back to her cozy corner, leaving you wondering what you did to get dismissed so casually.

Juno’s our third dog, and I absolutely adore her.
